Marriage Secret: Forgiving Love
- What did conflict resolution look like in the family you grew up in? How did your parents model it? Were you good at it? Was conflict resolution avoided? Just talk with your spouse about what you remember growing up in this area of resolving hurts and conflicts.
- Reflect back to a conflict you have had in your marriage. What was the root cause of that conflict; was it a hurt, an offense, or did it start because you were angry?
- Identify a place where you came to that fork in the road and chose not to resolve the conflict - to ignore the problem. Perhaps that issue has come up again and again. Just talk about it quickly and then we will walk you through the steps to close that loop.
- Think back to that open Loop you have right now. Where are you on the Loop? What needs to happen in order to close that Loop so you can move on in the relationship?
Is there an issue that has come to your mind as we've been talking about resolving conflict? Don't wait to resolve it. Pray right now and ask God to prepare your heart to discuss the issue. Then go through the steps to close the Loop. Don't let another hour go by before working out the issue. Your marriage will be blessed.
