The Need
Unhealthy views on relationships, marriage, and family permeate our culture. Students today are bombarded with conflicting messages on everything from respect for authority to appropriate moral conduct. This is no small issue. Ultimately, our belief in Christ is defined by how we apply His teaching on relationships. How we interact with others defines who we are, what we believe, and our impact on the next generation for Him.
Teaching Positive Biblical Behavior
To counter the negative influence of the world, parents must be intentional about teaching their children positive biblical ways to filter through what the world is throwing at them. Even parents who have open communication with their children sometimes find challenges in “keeping up” or providing meaningful ways to integrate ideas about relationships, marriage, and family into real-life.
Many Christian schools have long sought to teach biblical principles on relationships, but have not been well equipped to involve parents in this process. Simply teaching students about biblical concepts of relationships, marriage, and family at school would only scratch the surface of the issue. Children need to also see their parents and family actively working to apply into their own lives the very principles they are learning. They need to see faith and the belief reinforced both at home and school.
Parent-driven - School-supported
The Great Relationship Experience is effective and lasting because it integrates a parent-driven, school-supported approach to learning, modeling, and applying Godly principles. We provide the resources and follow-up necessary for parents to improve their own marriage or other relationships…while giving schools a way to prepare students to have conversations about these topics and reinforce what parents are teaching.
